Hi Everyone,

One thing I wanted to mention so others would know, I never thought about it until it happened to me.
I had built my Medfer setup in the early 2000's which was part 15 at the top of the AM BCB.
I got an EF Johnson silver plated flat spiral coil from a 1 kW AM broadcast transmitter that was no longer in service and mounted it in a five gallon bucket.
Everything was siliconed up, screw holes in the bucket and all. The transmitter was in one bucket and loading coil in another right beside it.
In the late 2000's I went to make a change to the coil after 6 months off the air and when I popped the lid off, the coil was submerged in water (and ruined due to corrosion). It turns out the bucket lid had developed micro cracks and let water in. Weep holes would have solved my problem as would replacing the lid every few years.
