[600MRG] loss of signal - not so simple

Hi,

I suspect all of the 'popular' email services and especially those
razzle-dazzle web based services are doing the best they can to
'protect' "the great, unwashed masses" from the evils of spam. The
(unrecognized) problem for the programmers is that we ain't all the
same. Our wants and needs are different one from another.

A problem I ran into with the programming geeks when I was on IT staff
is they have their pipe dreams and stuff their 'product' full of that.
Somebody has to go into the business offices and lok over shoulders -
ask questions - to make software work *for* and *with* the end users. It
ain't going to be those geeks hidden in their closets. <now you have my
opinion>.

I suppose I will start with my ISP and see how they handle email and
usenet. If they just farm it out to one of the big name players they get
scratched off the list and the search goes on. I do know what to do with
filters and the spam.

I wonder what the people who do the spam blocking research do to get the
spam (their meat and potatoes) through the present day spam blockers.
You can't work 'em if you can't hear 'em.

73,

Bill KU8H
