[600MRG] LF receivers

I personally feel one would be remiss in not including for
consideration, the Icom R-75 in the modern category.

It is the general receiver of choice by many MF/LF long time operators.

I use mine. It is only slightly modified with the main modification of
using a Wenzel 10 MHz. OCXO tripling to 30 MHz. for the local
oscillator. It really didn't gain me much because of general tolerances
in the other receiver components. It surprises me more people haven't
posted this receiver as their every day receiver.

I also own many other receivers for that portion of the spectrum. The
HP3586 SLM is also very good but larger. It just depends on how much
serious work you want to put into listening.

I also must agree that for the price the Jackson Harbor converter is
very hard to beat and every shack should include one.

The BC-453's continue to amaze me too. I have one in each of my outdoor
shops for listening.

Every shack should also include at least one e-probe for the price. I
see a board is being offered on eBay if one doesn't want to home brew one.

LOTS of fun with anything listed and all worthy choices.
