I have three GDOs here: two AN/PRM-10s with all the coils, and a Millen with
all the coils, including the LF ones. I use the Millen regularly, and used one
of the AN/PRM-10s regularly before I got the Millen.

The reason I have two AN/PRM-10s is that I took mine to work once for a
special project, then loaned it to a professor who needed to use it, who then,
apparently, lost it. The University bought me a replacement....then the
orginal one showed up again about 10 years later when the professor in
question cleaned out his lab.

The Millen I got when the EE Lab was cleaning out all their "junque". They
were throwing it away, and I glommed onto it....along with some other nice
equipment. One of the techs who was cleaning out the EE deparement's
stuff knew that I liked old stuff and called me.

The same thing happened with our Physics department, and with our
Chemistry department. I got a bunch of NIB power tubes from the Chemistry
department and some new sockets to fit them.

I also got a couple of nice LCR bridges and a signal generator or two.

My dumpster-diving at the University has really paid off. I sold a replica De
Forest audion with socket (which was also being tossed) for $1500.00 to a
collector who knew exactly what it was.

Also, a somewhat damaged original "Navy Coupler" to another collector for
$300.00.

Well, back to the interesting experiments...
