[600MRG] K3/K3s on 630 Meters

Anybody know why "you'll still have to cut the RX antenna off during TX, most likely" ?
If you use a separate receiver with a loop antenna like I did, you will need to protect the input coil of the receiver from the voltage the loop will put out.
I used a Saylor Brand "Receiver Protector Unit" when running as WD2XSH/6 at about 15 watts erp. The loop was more than 50 feet from the vertical, which is close coupled at this frequency.

Thanks for the forward.

"You'll then need an external amplifier. It could be keyed using the rig's
KEY OUT jack. This signal could also be used to control a T/R switch if you
needed to use the same antenna for both transmit and receive. If you use
two different antennas, you'll still have to cut the RX antenna off during
TX, most likely."

Anybody know why "you'll still have to cut the RX antenna off during TX,
most likely" ?

I was operating with a K3S yesterday, but did not employ any disconnect on
the RX antenna...
