1. No _UTC_ rejection here so are we OK for Sunday 15th as part 97s??

2. _Inductor tuning;_  A ferrous metal slug ( powdered iron ) inside of 
the coil will lower it's resonance frequency.
     A non-ferrous slug ( brass ) will raise the frequency.

3. _R losses_; Forget R losses... Take them or leave them...
     If you are at sea or on a salt water shore line then a vertical 
wire/tower is #1... Salt water is the _'ground'_, perfect reference @ 630m..
     If you live on several square/cubic miles of silica or rock then 
forget lossy radial/vario versions... Ugh, too expensive both in bux and 
losses...
     Inland favorite here @ xsh/17 is for $20 dollars worth of quality 
wire and a surplus vacuum variable cap. and you will have a high Q loop ...
     Bonus for using this loop is that you get a 'quiet' receive 
antenna, typical of loops...
     Plus, it is effectively near free space...
