The e-probe in the drawing is fashioned after the Marine Mobile MF ( 
600M ) receivers front end which were High Voltage FETs that can stand a 
huge RF field and not break down, they get warm but keep on ticking. 
There are no relays or switches in this simple set-up, just full QSK, 
real fast between dits, even... Just place it near the top ( hot end ) 
of your RFPA vario...
You can find them on e-bay under CP666, CP640 and the Russian version 
KP903V, worth the few bucks extra...
