I thought they abolished that license completely a couple of years ago?Two friends of mine had that on their "to do" list 'just because they could". They were among the last recipients of the 1st class as far as I know.I don't think they require that radio stations have an engineer on staff any more. It's all farmed out as needed, like calling a Tv repairman.

 Hi Ken -

Do a google search for COLEM and see if there is a testing group that
is local to you.  Many VEC's also do the testing, at least thats the
case here in Dallas.  If you took the 20 for your Extra and have some
documentation of it like an old ticket that will suffice for your code
test requirement.  I seem to recall that an extra prior to 2000 would
provide credit.  I did not have to take the test as I was able to
provide proof.  The COLEM, like a VE tester, will have all of the
forms or give you instructions on what you need to download.  You
don't have to have two passport photos anymore.

When I did my T2 back in 2005, I sat at the kitchen table of the widow
of the late Bill Elkins of Elkin's Institute for my exam. I did my
GROL at the Dallas ARC's testing session.

I suspect there is someone in your local area that does testing or
maybe at the nearest big city.

73 and good luck!

John
