Having been retired for a long time and amassing a huge junk pile now
finds a great source for good parts, etc...
Today's beauty is a reworked Ramsey Q-amp kit.. 1w to 20w HF booster...
It kinda worked...
Didn't do as expected some 10 years ago as new but it did yield a few
watts of amp/buffer for a time...

Here is the latest reworked version;
No more aluminum chassis or Greenlee punches finds new uses for old
radio carcass for embedded home brew...
Recent rework of Ameco 6 and 2 meter transmitter lived a while as a RF
linear, then a high level tube mixer for 630 meters.. Junk now...

Q-Amp ( formally Ramsey kit )
1. added 10 ohm film resistors to the gates of IRF-520s ( original fets
didn't do so well )...
2. added radio shack mini heat sinks to the board, now produces some
real power...
3. add small muffin fan from old USB/Drive housing...
4. wind appropriate toroid transformers for RF in/out of -43 material...
4. add T80-15 ( red/white ) single stage pi-net LPF, really dumps the IF
of 10.475 mhz...
5. wipe out the unnecessary RF detector relay stage...
Using at about 3 watts out makes for plenty of head room and clean sine
waves... ( to about 20 watts out max )

It survived a full power, all day session and runs cool at normal use
with nice round signals...
