Already, ham operations on 630m are extending remarkably: Hawaii, Australia, Japan, CaymanIslands, Canary Islands, Reunion Island. I’m imagining areas of possible new 630mactivity in next 10 years from a ham/experimenter availability/accessibilityviewpoint and moderate-to-lower Tstorm standpoint. What do you think? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atmospheric_electricity#/media/File:Global_lightning_strikes.png
In-country laws and administrationsmay not permit 630m in some of these places, at least for a while yet. Please post corrections and additions or sendthem to me at mrsocion at aol.com .

AREASOF POSSIBLE NEW 630M ACTIVITY IN NEXT 10 YEARS
As new possible 630m areas, consider Chile(Concepcion, Santiago), Argentina (Bahia Blanca), Brazil (Sao Paolo, Rio deJaneiro, Belo Horizonte), Turkey (Ankara), Israel, Egypt, South Africa (Capetown),Dubai, S. India (Hyderabad, Bangalore), SW Australia (Perth), and central Siberia(Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk, Ust-Ilimsk, etc). South Korea and northern/central China (Beijing,Yulin, Yanan, Xian, etc.) offer additional possibilities. Locations may be favorable for 630m in low-Tstorm areas where universities,electrical/electronic industries, and/or scientific outposts exist. Advances in conveniently-erectable 630mantennas that are also radial-free can facilitate such stations.
BestVK/ZL –CE/LU 630m propagation would be expected in S. Hemisphere mid-fall andwinter (N. Hemisphere spring-summer). N/Shemisphere 630m communication between mid-latitude stations between hemisphereswill probably cluster within a month or so of one or both equinoxes at times whenrainy seasons do not interfere
Various islands too numerous to list may also be activated in the Caribbean and in the Mediterraneanareas. I mention just a few more areasor islands globally as well: New Zealand, Oceania, Azores, S. Greenland.
Among the less probable 630m locations, dryseasons may also permit temporary operations in very stormy areas in E. Asia,India, Taiwan, the Philippines, central and northern South America, the Falklands (Malvinas), andsub-Saharan Africa. High noise storm levels and adverse wind/moisture conditions can be expected during wet seasons ofcourse. E/W propagation in and betweenequatorial zones by 630m hams and experimenters is yet to be probed. As far as I know, equatorial anomalypropagation on 630m involving temperate latitude locations has yet to be demonstrated or even found to exist.
Antarctica, N. Canada and Murmansk area inRussia are also 630m-possible areas. However, auroral absorption, punishing weather, and frozen ground pose challenges to 630m station-building in these places. Possibly temporary antennas might be set up and later secured down or away, before the predictably worse weather seasonsbegin.
Some of the ideas here may seem far-fetched,and they are offered in the ham spirit of possibility and opportunity. The future will probably make fools of us all! Thank you for reading this post.
