W5JGV published his 600 meter remote ammeter on his site or www.500kc.com.
My copy works fine (The toroid is a "sample for an experiment").

Most hot-wire-thermocouple ammeters are calibrated at 60 cps with an ac ammeter and hold true as frequency goes up in the MF and HF bands.

Calculate your target antenna amps and I may have a meter for you.
You did read the technical files section of www.500kc.com ?
