Larry -

I just installed LibreOffice today so I am a babe in the woods using it. I will learn more about it, probably next week as I have a busy weekend with English Premiere League football (called soccer in the USA), Formula 1 racing, and American football.

It is encouraging to know that MS Excel macros will work, at least to some extent, in LibreCalc.

According to a article I found on the Internet, OO and LibreOffice have common roots but are now maintained by different organizations. It all has to do with buy-outs, mergers, break-offs, etc.

I will look through the previous E-mails for what you are trying to do with unique callsigns.

Bob,

OO (or LibreOffice as it seems to be called now) has a compatibility
mode where it seems to work with anything Microsoft EXCEL produces at
least up until Office 2007 versions. I have a number of spreadsheet
"calculators" the were written in EXCEL using macros and they all work
fine. It sometimes takes a bit of fiddling but it does work. If you were
to create an EXCEL macro that did what I have not been able to do, I
would be happy to test it. I can also check it in Office 2000/EXCEL that
I have on another computer but of course it's only a 32 bit box.

The show stopper for me has been trying to count the number of unique
callsigns. I have been able to figure out most everything else but that
one has me befuddled. Look at one of my recent posts and it lists some
of the analysis points I'm interested in.
