Very intresting, Rudy - thanks!

I am conducting a similiar study of WSPR data here in Vt., with the goal of
understanding the relative performance of two totally different
transmitting stations.

WG2XKA employs the classic and common short, top loaded T-Marconi vertical,
H=40' with 100' of top loading, over 70 radials varying in length from
20-150', with good near field density.

Brian, WG2XPJ transmits about 40 miles due N of me. His antenna
essentially a half wave horizontal dipole very close to the ground. Both
systems have performed well on WSPR over the season.

As there has been a large, consistant base of listeners across the US and
W. EU that appear and report nightly, I became curious regarding the
relative performance of two very different stations, in regards to "what
stations heard both of us and at what times with what S/N report".

By mutual agreement, both station are running the same feedline power, in
this case about 125-150W.

Each morning I capture the unique sorted WSPRnet data from the previous
session for each station. Presently I am in the data collection phase and
draw no conclusions. The eventual goal is to roughly evaluate the
performance of two very different systems with a common base of receiving
stations.

Clearly there are far too many variables involved here to draw meaningful
conclusions : distance between stations, differing propogation paths, etc.
Bottom line - something to do during winter in New England.

Details in the spring.
