howdy...

I plan on running CW only starting on Sunday night (0001z) and like
others, will hang around as long as I can keep my eyes open and
activity supports. I'm not a night owl anymore, trading that hat for
being a morning person so its possible that I will get a nap after
local midnight and come back around 0800z through sunrise, which is
often very productive here in North Texas.

My calling frequency is TBA but probably somewhere around 474.5,
depending on availability. I will be listening simplex AND on a 40m
freq TBA to pick up ops that may not be ready to transmit on 472.
Note that simplex calls will be given priority and any QSL's that are
received for crossband QSO's will be marked as such. I will also tune
the band in between my calls for other stations and may disappear
briefly to work others on other freqs.

I'll be listening omni as well as different directions on 630m and the
receive antennas are pretty directional so make long calls and / or
arrange a sked in the ON4KST chat, which I will be monitoring.
Sometimes I put on wireless head phones and briefly step away from the
op position while the CQ machine blares on so if you call and I dont
answer, I am probably in the process of running back to the op
position to answer you. I usually listen omni if I step away...

Its possible that we have some weather in the forecast for sometime on
Sunday. Even if we don't, noise may be up so I will adjust
accordingly. Check the ON4KST chat for current op conditions. I also
update the box in the upper right hand corner of my website pretty
reliably with my operational status.

My 2200m station is in order but I will not activate until later in
the week or the following weekend unless there is a compelling reason
to do so. At the moment that station is only configured for CW and I
am set to operate on 136 kHz unless someone says that there is a
better CW calling freq.

After my Sunday morning CW session that goes through my local sunrise,
I will be putting WG2XIQ to bed with no intention of using the call
sign again. The license will be allowed to lapse in September 2018.

Finally, my January 2018 MF/LF column in CQ will be devoted to opening
night / week so please post or send me stories of who you heard /
worked for inclusion. These reports will be included in my daily
reports as usual. If you make screen captures, WSJTx console images,
etc, please be sure that they are high resolution if they are to be
considered for inclusion. I have a very fast turn around because I am
waiting so late to write so I really need anything that is to be
considered for inclusion by Friday, 10/20. Audio is also good as I
can include that in my bonus material on the website.

73!
