[600MRG] USA 630m Amateur Band Approval - Counter Viewpoint

Hi Mike,

I'm going to take a bit more optimistic view on the matter. Your
role is to notify them of your intent to operate, not ask their
permission. It's true that they can file an objection within 30-days
but I have seen nothing in the R & O to suggest that there is no right
to appeal. At that point the burden of proof is on them to show why
you should be excluded. They are going to spend as little money on
this as possible so getting into a protracted legal battle does not
help them reach that goal.

So the other question is this: does your property allow you to
relocate your antenna? There will no doubt be hair splitting if its
close. If that makes you feel better, you should consider it. I just
don't expect that it will be necessary, however.

Its all going to be OK...

73,

John

There must have been significant objections to granting of amateur privileges on these frequencies in the US. This could be a means of denying the amateur radio privileges while officially not doing so. That smacks of politics, but I’d be really, really surprised if the outcome differs from this scenario in my situation.
