Thanks for comments all on the high voltage FET...
After some more snooping on the net I came across these if anyone is
interested...

Two NOS for price of one:

Rusky version, real heavy duty like I recall on the Marine receiver
front ends, two for 8 bux:

Steve, AA7, you are correct on the mpf102 vs. the HV version...

I am running full QSK now on 630m and there are no relays, clatter, or
other distractions in the R/T path... Both RX/TX are on at the same time...
When I shifted over from the failed ( broken lead ) power FET to a small
j-fet in the Amrad pre-amp the band had taken a beaten due to
propagation and now it seems like I barely need the HV version FET...
The nokise figure of each is still below the ambient antenna 'noise'...

What I am doing with the two 600' vertical LOOP leads are adding in
series the following;
1. A HV vacuum variable to resonate...
2. A SINGLE loop link winding in to the cold end of a KW variometer
which means LOTS of RX soup at the HOT end and is plenty to safely feed
the AMRAD loop but not enough to burn anything out... This is all inside
of a shielded bud rack and I can see outside noise across the 630m
spectrum then a 6 db bump up @ the WSPR band from the resonated
variometer...
3. Then another loop which is the output of the 630m PA amp running at
about 25 watts...

Thanks all for comments, DaveR WD2XSH/17

* Next is a rework project of a Q-Amp by Ramsey which needs a heap of
help to get running correctly...
More on this soon...
