[600MRG] Cleaning a large air variable

Hi all:

This large air variable was recently put into my possession, and I need to safely clean it
for future use..

As the photo shows, it is very corroded from years of storage. It is long enough to stand
on its end in a 5 gallon bucket. Considering a tooth brush and mean green..
Suggestions appreciated.
