[600MRG] Congratulations: VK3ELV decoded at JN1MSO

Congratulations to Phil, VK3ELV and Tetsuya-san JN1MSO for the 5000 mile WSPR transmission from Australia and 630m reception in Japan!

VK3ELV lies NNE of Melbournein Mount Bruno, Australia. JN1MSO is west of Tokyo, Japan.   Their call signs show up on the WSPR map and the web. The singleton 630m decode for VK3ELV into Japan's JN1MSO is surrounded on the database by decodes of VK3ELV by 630m Australian stations. So this decode looks for real, not simply a decode from another frequency band entered onto the 630m database.    
 
Looks like gray line.  This VK3/JN1 decode occurred 1920Z--a bit over an hour pre-sunrise locally both places.  (Both Melbourne sunrise and Tokyo sunrise coincided at 2031Z. Japan has moved into spring's shorter nights and Australia has entered fall's longer nights so the sunrise gray line links them.  Japan sunrise is UTC+9. Sunrise DST in SE Australia is UTC+11.)  
 
Folks with more propagation knowledge could helpfully comment on this because DX decodes on 630m have often occurred without gray line propagation. The lunar first quarter at about 0743Z 3/27/15 occurred about 36 hours prior to this VK3/JN1 decode and may be unrelated to it.
 
No 160m WSPR decodes between VK and any point elsewhere occurred in the last 24 hours.  Conversely, 160m delivered trans-Atlantic (TA) decodes, while 630m did not have any TA in the last 24 hours.     

     
Perhaps another 630m trans-Pacific (TP) crossing between VK/ZL and JA or N. America may occur.  We'll see if the SNRs of N. America 630m stations improve into WH2XCR in Molokai. If a TP from N. America occurs at all, it will probably happen in the next three weeks.  I'll be interested if Easter +/- one day yields anything.  Full moon and a lunar eclipse occur then.  But solar flux may not be very high going forward. Nevertheless, this time of year around equinox is calendar-symmetrical with times late last summer and early fall when both VK and ZL decoded 630m N. America stations. GL!
