[600MRG] Advice needed

Yes it does,  it will rust the inside steel in two,  at least it has on 
the rods I have here in
salt soil.   I use copper pipe, I attach a garden hose to the copper and 
let the water
flow "drill" the hole.  have done it with pipe up to 8 ft or more.
I have heard of hams using salt,  and dont know how that is helping over 
the long term
at all,  salt here rusts everything in site.  Making for "diodes" that 
cause noise and
junk all over the bands,  its a constant fight to find these rusted 
joints etc.

> Yesterday I dug a shallow hole and pounded an 8 ft ground rod 7.5 ft into the ground. I am thinking about pouring salt and water into the whole around it and hoping it will soak down deeper. I am assuming this will help with my ground resistance into this very rocky soil. My question is "will the salt water corrode my copper rod and eventually ruin my efforts?
