Hello all,
I'm the new guy here. There's a lot I don't know about MW propagation, so I was wondering if it's unrealistic to try to receive your station here in southern NY?My Yaesu FT450 can't hear you, but that doesn't mean that my BC-453 can't. I think it performs a little bit better, since it was specifically designed for the band,I loaded up QRSSO30, but no joy there either.
For Some reason that I can't explain, 630 meters intrigues me, so I may want to apply for an experimental license.
When you filed  for the experimental did you list the setup that you have or did you use commercial rig #'s ?. I was thinking that the FCC might balk at any "unknowns" on the application.
Presently, I am just listening on a 160 meter dipole. I don't know what I may have to do for a tx antenna... I was thinking of playing with some kind of fractal or maybe some Marconi-esque setup.

wa2xrm will be on the air again tonight, 8 Dec. 15, at 2310z using QRSS30 on 479.9035 kHz.
Yes, it is a new  frequency,  479.9035 kHz
Using my old home brew TCXO, actually it is not a TCXO, It is just  a 7680 kHz crystal oscillator and a divide by 16 IC on a PCB.
It is really not temperature compensated, No thermistors.
Not very sophisticated. i epoxied a big 47 ohm resistor on top of the crystal and applied power to itso that the crystal goes up to +50C.The oscillator is in a little cardboard box with bubble wrap around it.
i will be sending a QRSS30 message continuously from Colorado. You should be able to detect it by ear, The program will send my call sign at 15 WPM every 30 minutes.
It will remain on all night, 8 Dec. 2015, till dawn 9 Dec. 2015.It might still have some ripple on it.Send reports to:w0rw1 at msn.com
