[600MRG] Too Funny!

I was hiking through the conservation land this afternoon and listening 
to 60m channel 2 (53346.5) and heard a guy talking about 500kc (I will 
not identify to protect the guilty.)
He was telling his buddies that 600m was now an authorized ham band and 
that the had ordered a Juba (sic) kit from Finland. Furthermore, he was 
listening on 475kHz last night and heard this guy WD2XSH on CW - he 
lookes WD2XSH up on QRZ.COM and came to the conclusion that 472-479 was 
now authorized for U.S. hams. He also said that he ordered a 2" dia 
fiberglass tube from McMaster Carr for a coil form for his loading coil 
as the 60W out of the Juba (sic) would cause PVC to catch fire !

    I ran home, and as my 60m dipole is down due to tree work, I jumped 
in the car and called him with my mobile setup.  He was adamant that he 
knew what he was talking about, after all there was a web page talking 
about a 20W ERP assignment. I tried explaining the situation - WD2XSH is 
an Experimental License with 41 different stations (his comment was 
that's confusing).  He also told me that he could always work 472-479 
with 5W ERP under Part 15! Then he proceeded to explain to me how 
difficult it is to radiate 5W ERP on 472!

    I followed up with an email, but so far no response.

    I didn't realize WD2XSH is on qrz.com, but if so someone needs to 
put in 24pt Bold Face type a warning that this is NOT an authorized ham 
band in the U.S. !
