Be sure to use "safety caps" just for the insurance companies. The cost is
almost the same.

Is a 0.01 uF bypass cap adequate for 500 KHz?  At 14 MHz its (ideal)
reactance is 1.1 ohms.  At 0.5 MHz its reactance is almost 32 ohms.  If the
line impedance is high, such as a few hundred ohms, maybe it will be
sufficient.  Maybe - but I don't get a warm fuzzy feeling.  To boot, if this
cap is across a 120VAC 60 Hz power line something more deliberate w.r.t.
safety has to be included when choosing the bypass cap.
