The existing setup was a 39' thin (#10) wire vertical with 100' top loading
wire.
I spent the day constructing a parallel wire loading T, consisting of two,
100' wires spaced 4'. The spreaders are 4' fiber rods used here in VT to
mark places where the snowplow man should not go. They are international
orange, but who is looking up?
There is a spreader on each end, and one in the center at the 50' point. A
bridle joins the two wires there, and the vertical is centered between the
two wires. Fairly standard installation. The toughest part, working
alone, was getting the three spreaders parallel when the whole thing was
raised. This took several frustrating hours.
The additional C allowed me to remove 105 uH of variometer inductance, also
removing the associated losses.
Proof of performance on the air remains to be seen.
