My biggest concern is that I have been searching for horse collars and a whip for my antique buggy in case the big one happens and I will be out of a mode of transportation!

This is a reflector for studying propagation for the 600 meter band, not for philosophy on how important ENCOM will be on 470 KHz.

This has been discussed ad nausea on other forums. The last time I looked - the military was doing fine with modern communication system and without galena detectors, Deforest valves and other WW2 items. 

I enjoy CW as a hobby. It will be useful on this band , but not for doomsday emergency communication on 600 meters if 600 meters ever becomes a ham band.


I'd suggest that these ENCOM discussions be moved to a more appropriate place.
