lol  no the flower pot base insulator appears to be intact.  This was likely a FET.. I noticed when setting up that the FETs on the U3 seemed a little soft and I was having to work them over a little harder than normal.  My guess is that the amp is actually ok and the driver dropped to unsustainable levels...

post mortem tomorrow.. 20 dbm from the big antenna tonight.
