[600MRG] XSH/20 and VK

I think what John/TAG was saying is that anything can be put into the datafield for the callsign - a tactical call, for example - and still be legal as the FCC only looks for the CW ID on the 30...  Its analogous to Mike/12 sending "/12 /12" in the QRSS waterfall but he has a aural CW ID to cover the legalities... Essentially the same situation here.

Rudy, I agree with John/TAG.. You could shorten the digital call to something like XSH/20 and be sure to turn your CW ID on.  I think Dick/26 did the same thing with the U3 to solve the same issue.

I may be missing something here and if I think of it, I will chime back in.  I receive Rudy in a single TX instant of 2 minutes as WD2XSH/20 so it may be a non-issue if you are running a current version of the software.  The two-TX cycle issue was related to the 6 digit maindenhead grid only, I believe.

John, I think that if you cannot read more than 9 characters you do not
really have a communication path.
