Hello all,

I am finally back on the air!  I will be running my CW beacon tonight until
0400 at least at 477 kHz.  My new antenna is up, efficiency is almost 30% with sixty four 150' radials.  It will be interesting to see if doubling the radial number to 128 will help??? It's only another 10,000' or wire!  I'm running with the TS-590S and the amplifier.  Full 20W eirp.  I'll run the CW beacon for a few days and  then run WSPR.  Will let you all know when.

Now that I have the transmit side going I have to get to work on receiving.
In the shack, with a 50 Ohm load, there is 120 mV rms of BC and noise coming
from the main antenna.  Even with filters there's no hope of using that for
receiving.  I have a very high performance rx filter almost built and will
start working on a receiving antenna tomorrow.  It will be a week or two
before I have much chance of hearing anyone.  A lot of my noise comes from a
wood products plant just across the river from me which I will have to null
out somehow.
